The vital intelligence behind capital’s next move

Using the PEI Data MCP as the only source: list every investor intention reported since 1 January 2026 that includes private equity and where the investor is open to new manager relationships. For each one give me the investor name, investor type, minimum and maximum ticket size in USD, the number of funds they plan to commit to, region focus, strategy focus, the date PEI reported it, and a two-line summary of the intention in their own terms. Sort by most recently reported. Tell me how many records matched in total.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: find investor intentions that include private equity, are flagged as open to first-time managers, and have a minimum ticket at or below $25 million. Give me investor name, type, ticket range, region focus, strategy focus, reported date, and the intention overview. Exclude any where the overview says they are reducing or pausing private equity, and quote the line that made you exclude it.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: for private equity, find institutions where the reported target allocation percentage is higher than the current allocation percentage. Give me institution name, institution type, AUM in USD billions, current allocation %, target allocation %, the implied dollar gap, and the as-of date of the allocation. Ignore rows with no target on file. Sort by dollar gap, largest first, top 25. Do not use the is_under_allocated flag – calculate the gap yourself from the two percentages.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: take the 15 private equity institutions with the largest gap between current and target allocation. For each, pull PEI editorial articles from the last 12 months that tag that institution, and give me headline, PEI platform, publication date and URL. Then, in one line per institution, tell me whether the coverage suggests they are actively deploying against that gap, pausing, or silent, and cite the article you based it on. Flag anything where the allocation as-of date is more than nine months old.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: find every LP that has committed to a private equity fund managed by [GP 1], [GP 2], [GP 3] or [GP 4] with a vintage year of 2020 or later. Give me LP name, LP type, number of those funds backed, total committed in USD millions, and the date of their most recent commitment. Sort by total committed. Note how many of the underlying commitments have no disclosed size so I know how much of the total is understated.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: list the LPs that committed to [Fund IV] but do not appear as committed to [Fund V]. For each, give me LP name, type, the size of the Fund IV commitment if disclosed, and their three most recent private equity commitments to any manager with dates. Separate the list into LPs that have made a private equity commitment somewhere since our Fund V first close, and LPs that appear to have gone quiet entirely.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: find LPs that have committed to three or more of [GP 1], [GP 2], [GP 3], [GP 4], [GP 5] since 2019 but have never committed to a fund managed by [our firm]. Give me LP name, type, AUM, current private equity allocation percentage, and their most recent commitment date. Then check whether any of them has an investor intention on file, and if so add the ticket range and reported date.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: list private equity funds currently fundraising with a target size between $[X] and $[Y] million that opened in 2025 or 2026. Give me manager name, fund name, target size, amount raised so far, percentage of target reached, and open year. Sort by percentage of target, lowest first. Show fund names and manager names, not IDs.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: list every private equity fund with a status of pre-marketing. Give me manager, fund name, target size in USD, and any open date on file. Then tell me, for each manager, when their previous fund closed and at what size, so I can see the step-up they are attempting.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: for private equity funds that held a final close between 2023 and 2026 with a final size between $500 million and $2 billion, use the fund close records to calculate the number of months between first close and final close. Give me the median, the upper and lower quartile, and the ten longest. Only include funds with at least two recorded closes, and tell me how many funds are in the sample.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: build a one-page brief on [competitor GP]. Include every fund they have raised with vintage, target and final size; their PEI GP ranking position for each of the last five years and the capital-raised figure behind it; their current fundraising vehicles with target against raised; and every PEI article tagging them in the last 18 months with headline, brand, date and URL. Close with five bullets on what has changed for them in the last year, each citing a specific article or data point.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: for private equity funds with vintage years 2016 to 2022, using performance records reported on or after 30 June 2025, give me by vintage year: number of funds, upper-quartile net IRR, median net IRR, lower-quartile net IRR, median TVPI and median DPI. Express IRR as a percentage to one decimal place – the underlying field is a decimal fraction, so 0.185 is 18.5%. State the reporting-date window you used.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: build a peer group of private equity funds with the same vintage year as [our fund], a final size within 50% either side of ours, and at least one performance record in the last four quarters. Show me our fund's latest net IRR, TVPI and DPI against the peer group's quartile breaks, and state which quartile we fall into on each measure. Give me the peer group size, the reporting date of each figure, and name the five funds immediately above and below us on TVPI.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: for private equity vintages 2018 to 2022, show median DPI and median distributed percentage at the most recent reporting date, and the same figures twelve and twenty-four months earlier. Present it as a table by vintage so I can see how distributions have moved. Express ratios to two decimal places and state the exact reporting dates used for each column.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: show [our firm]'s position in the PEI GP Ranking for every year it appears, with the rank and the five-year capital-raised figure behind it. Do the same for [competitor 1] and [competitor 2] and present all three as one table by year. Tell me who has moved most over the last five years.

Using the PEI Data MCP as the only source, build a briefing on [LP name] for a meeting next week. Include institution type, AUM and the as-of date; allocation to every private markets asset class with current against target percentage and as-of dates; their last fifteen fund commitments with manager, fund, asset class, size where disclosed and date; any investor intention on file with ticket range, pacing and the full overview text; their position in any PEI investor ranking; and every PEI article tagging them in the last 18 months with headline, brand, date and URL. Finish with five talking points and three questions they are likely to ask me, each tied to something specific in the data or the coverage.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: show every commitment [LP name] has made in the last three years, grouped by asset class and then by strategy. For each, give manager, fund, size where disclosed and date. Then summarise in three lines what has changed about their manager selection over that period – new relationships against re-ups, and any shift in strategy mix. Say explicitly where the pattern is thin because size or date is undisclosed.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: find PEI articles from the last 12 months that tag [LP name], and pull out anything relating to board decisions, consultant recommendations, pacing plans, staff changes or allocation policy. Give me headline, brand, date, URL and the relevant extract from the article. Order by date, newest first, and tell me if the most recent item is more than six months old.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: for private equity funds that closed between 2019 and 2026 with a final size between $[X] and $[Y] million, show by close year: number of funds closed, aggregate capital raised, median fund size, and the share of funds that closed above target. State how many funds in each year have no target on file and were therefore excluded from the last column.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: for each close year from 2019 to 2026, split private equity funds into size bands – under $500m, $500m–2bn, $2bn–5bn, $5bn–10bn, over $10bn – and show the number of funds and aggregate capital raised in each. Then give me the share of total capital raised by the ten largest funds in each year. Present as one table.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: find PEI articles from the last six months about [theme, for example continuation vehicles, NAV lending, LP liquidity]. Summarise the argument PEI's editorial has been making, quoting three headlines with brand, date and URL. Then pull the structured data underneath it – fund counts, capital raised, commitment activity in the relevant strategy – and tell me where the data supports the narrative and where it does not. Be explicit about which claims you could not test against the data.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: for private equity funds that closed in 2023 or later, list the service providers recorded against them – fund formation counsel and placement agents – ranked by number of funds advised. Resolve the provider IDs to institution names. Give me the count and the aggregate capital raised across those funds for each provider, top 15.

Using the PEI Data MCP only: find private equity funds that closed since 2022 with a final size between $[X] and $[Y] million, managed by firms headquartered in [region]. List the service providers recorded against those funds by name, with the number of funds each advised and the names of three of those funds. Exclude any provider appearing only once.
