Responsible Investor was recognised at the inaugural Aviva Investors Sustainability Media Awards in 2021, winning multiple categories:

• Publication of the Year

• Best Editorial ESG Campaign

• Best News Story

These awards highlighted RI’s outstanding journalism in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting. The winning editorial campaign focused on the fifth anniversary of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), showcasing how institutional investors across the world are supporting the 17 SDGs in practice.

RI reporter Dominic Webb received the Best News Story award for his investigative article, VE backpedals over coal mix-up in Adani second-party opinion, which exposed documentation errors related to a sustainability-linked bond.

Additionally, Gina Gambetta was highly commended in the Best Newcomer category, and former Senior Reporter Vibeka Mair was also recognised for her impactful climate reporting during her time at RI.
